Kelsey and Mathieu + A Wedding at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie + New York Weddings

 

Kelsey and Mathieu are from in Connecticut, met me on Skype, planned a wedding in New York with a Tucson Arizona wedding photographer, and now live in California.  Whew!  The amazing power of the internet.  As we chatted back and forth over the year, I was super excited to help Kelsey with her wedding timeline and picking places to take her photos.  But then New York had a cold snap and the planned for flower gardens were late in blooming.  And then rain was predicted that day…..all those things that you really can’t control.  Well, not having the planned for peony gardens led us to explore an area of Locust Grove that I had never been to before.  And now I don’t care if a flower ever blooms there again, because I am head over heels in love with the photos I took in the woods there!  And the rain held off throughout our photos, throughout the ceremony, and it just started to drizzle as we finished up our Hudson River photos, giving us just enough time to get safely back inside before the downpour.  And that night, the tent at The Grandview was even more stunning than usual as the blue uplighting bounced off the white tent walls and highlighted the glowing chandeliers inside.  I mean who needs sunny skies when you have a stunning wedding day like Kelsey and Mathieu’s?
