Val and Roger Locust Grove Wedding Photos

Finally, some sunshine!  Or at least for a little while.  I felt the pressure to get as many photos taken as possible at the gorgeous Locust Grove Estate in Poughkeepsie early during the day, as thunderstorms were predicted for 1pm.  Sure enough, just a few minutes after Val and Roger walked back down the aisle together, married at last, the rain arrived!  Luckily, the hard stuff was the done, everyone was safely inside, and I’m not even sure the guests noticed the rain during the wonderful party that followed.

The guys

Katie and Julio had booked me so long ago that it seemed like FOREVER for their wedding day to finally arrive. And it finally did! A spectacular day working alongside one of my favorite videographers, Jen Cassaro. A beautiful interfaith ceremony was held in the garden at the Villa Borghese. I think the guest favors were a huge hit – coffee beans grown on Julio’s family’s coffee farm in Puerto Rico. A very nice touch!

Janine's gorgeous dress!

Sometimes you see a wedding dress that looks so amazing on a bride, they really had found the dress that is ‘THE ONE’ for them. As soon as I saw Janine’s dress, I realized that she was the bride that this dress was designed for. A stunning and very different dress that looked gorgeous on her. A day that had predicted rain all day but ended up with big blue skies and a very happy couple.

Dana is the daughter of Karen Villanova of the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls and I had been looking forward to her and Chad’s wedding for some time now. The day was gorgeous and Dana had found a gem of a place to take wedding photos at Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring. I’ve lived in the area my entire life and had never discovered this gorgeous place. The hardest part of my day was the fact that we didn’t have enough time to walk through the 12 acres of gardens. Dana was breathtakingly beautiful and I’m still amazed at how easily she and Chad climbed up and down trails and rock formations in 4 inch heels and slippery dress shoes. But the photos we got were really worth the extra effort they put in. Afterwards, we headed to the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls for an evening with a 7 course dinner and dancing to the music of the band In Transit.
