Lori O'Toole Tucson Arizona Wedding Photographer » golf course http://www.loriotoole.com Arizona Wedding Photographer Tue, 13 Dec 2011 22:27:23 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 Classic Elegance at The Powelton Club – with a twist… http://www.loriotoole.com/2010/10/classic-elegance-at-the-powelton-club-with-a-twist/ http://www.loriotoole.com/2010/10/classic-elegance-at-the-powelton-club-with-a-twist/#comments Fri, 15 Oct 2010 20:26:26 +0000 Lori http://www.loriotooleblog.com/?p=1713 Everything about the Powelton Golf Club in Balmville is classic elegance.  So when Keri-Lyn described her colors of black and ivory with red roses, it was exactly what I expected in the beautiful setting of one of the oldest country clubs in America.  And that is where I LOVE how couples throw bits and pieces of their personalities into the setting of a very traditional event – their wedding day.  The tiny skull and crossbones set deep into Keri-Lyn’s hairpiece, the skull and crossbones on the martini glasses, the Nightmare Before Christmas bride and groom candles, and who can ever forget the 30 something year old ring bearer…..who was still NOT trusted to carry the actual rings!  And yes, he begged to be the ringbearer – outfit and all – you know we all have a friend like that somewhere!  No run of the mill groomsman for him!  Keri-Lyn and Mike kept the day beautiful and classy, but put those small touches here and there that make each wedding distinct and memorable for everyone.  LOVEIN IT!

Flowers by Becky – the bride!,    Music by DJ Domenic,   Ceremony & Reception at The Links at Union Vale

Becky and Justin planned their New York wedding from Ohio – everything was done in quick visits and alot of phone calls and emails.  Their wedding day was a beautiful 80 degrees – the perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony at The Links at Union Vale golf club.  Cherry blossoms decorated the ceremony programs and tables.  Becky and Justin were so relaxed and carefree – they were a wonderful couple to work with!  The day flowed perfectly and I really don’t think it would have bothered them at all even if it hadn’t.  I had also been the wedding photographer for two other couples who were guests – it was like spending the day with old friends.  Thank you Becky and Justin for asking me to spend your wedding day with you!

Threatening rain clouds moved the ceremony inside, but not a drop of rain showed up to stop the photos at Debbie and Rob’s wedding at Patriot Hills Golf Club.  It was wonderful seeing Debbie’s family again after photographing her sister, Betsy’s, wedding 2 years ago.  And Holley decided to pop up from Alabama because she didn’t want to miss this wedding!  We got to spend the day working with the fabulous videographer Jen Cassaro again – truely a great day.  This was truely a partying crowd – the dj got Rob to stand up on a speaker and asked him how much he trusted his friends.  Well, I now have my 1st crowd surfing groom – I still can’t believe Rob did this!

Wedding guest silouettes!

A sunset wedding at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge in Monroe was the backdrop for Janine and Justin’s August wedding. The details in this wedding were flawless, from the silhouette artist who was hired to do silhouettes of all the guests to the couples monogram hanging on the stone wall behind the cake. (how did they hang those letters on the stone wall?). Chester the labrador was one of the most well behaved ring bearers I have ever met and posed for formal photos along with running around in the background of the rest of Janine and Justin’s pictures. I just wish I had the time to get my silhouette made! What a nice wedding favor.
