Annalyn and Jason wed + Hacienda Del Sol + Tucson Wedding

A far from little storm called Hurricane Sandy couldn’t keep Jason from making it to Tucson from NYC for his wedding day.  And although I didn’t show it, I admit I was more than a bit worried in the days before their wedding.  NY airports were closed and roads were flooded.  And even if you could find a road that was open, chances were that you or your cab driver couldn’t get gas to get there anyway.  But Jason did make it to Tucson – with just one day to spare before his wedding day.

Annalyn is from Tucson, but had moved to New York for her job as a journalist.  She met Jason, a native NY’er, on a hike in the Hudson Valley – my old neck of the woods!  It’s kind of surreal to be talking with people in the Arizona desert about hiking trails in Cold Spring  New York that you have also been on many times.  Jason is an avid birder (hence the upstate Hudson Valley, New York hike) so lots of birding details were incorporated into their Tucson wedding at the beautiful Hacienda Del Sol resort in Tucson, Arizona.  Feathers in the boutonnieres, Annalyn’s birdcage veil;  birdcages on the tables, a bird cake topper, and my favorite:  John James Audubon’s Birds of  America coffee table book used as a guest signing book for their wedding.
