Engagement Session on Mount Lemmon

Laura, Robert and Lucy

It’s a small small world! Laura and Robert found me through Laura’s sister-in-law, Holley, who worked for me for 4 years photographing weddings back in New York. But Laura lives in Tucson and now so do I, so shooting this engagement session worked out perfectly! Laura and Robert choose Windy Point on Mount Lemmon to do their engagement photos. Lucy, their lettuce eating (yes we actually bribed her with a bag of lettuce), adorable and well behaved pug came along for the ride. I only wish I could get my dogs to eat lettuce! This was a perfect day for my first trip to Mount Lemmon – it’s as gorgeous as everybody has said. I hadn’t wanted to take the trip in the winter, but now that it was 70 degrees up there, I was one happy camper. Laura and Robert are so sweet and completely in love. We didn’t get to stay for sunset because it was Robert’s birthday (Happy Birthday!) and they had dinner plans, but I am definitely heading back to Mount Lemmon soon!

Brandi’s Belly Shoot

There is something that is beyond cool when I photograph someone’s wedding and then they call me back a few years later for a belly shoot (and eventually baby pics too!). Brandi and Joe were married in 2007 and well, now here comes baby #1! (word is this is 1 of 4) We did a few belly photos inside, but the weather was perfect for a change, so going outside for some more photos completely made my day. Brandi also brought one of her husband’s work shirt to wear in a few photos, which was a great idea and one I wish I’d thought of. Brandi is absolutely glowing and I wish her and Joe the best as their little baby makes an appearance in a few weeks!

Ava’s One!

Jackie once babysat my now 21 year old daughter…I photographed Jackie and Tony’s wedding 2 years ago…I’m going to Mexico to photograph her sister Geraldine’s wedding next year… And now Jackie and Tony’s baby daughter Ava is one year old! I’m still having trouble recognizing that their wedding was two years ago – time is flying by way to fast. Ava is an absolute doll – almost walking but not quite there yet. We went back to Vanderbilt Mansion, where I had photographed her mom & dad’s engagement photos over two years ago for Ava’s portrait session. I can’t wait to see how big she’s gotten in Mexico next summer!

So I’m not just a wedding photographer…..

Baby Ben – The Christmas baby

Baby Benjamin Hudson was born on Christmas day! Kristen called me on News Year Eve to tell me the great news and schedule his newborn photos. Which really wasn’t a minute too soon as I don’t think he would have fit in the suitcase in another week at the rate he is growing. Congratulations to Kristin and Hunter on a beautiful baby boy!

Adriana at 2 years old

It’s hard to believe it’s been 3 years since photographing Sean and Pati’s wedding and another entire year since I photographed baby Adriana at 1 year old. Now she’s 2 and running, running, running! I don’t think she stopped moving for even one second of the entire hour we spent at Vanderbilt Mansion. This was one of the last days for any fall color and Adriana had a great time playing in all the piles of falling leaves. This baby never stopped moving, but she never stopped laughing either. Love it!

Maternity Session – the belly!

Nope this is not Boudoir – this is a belly shoot! Although I took a break from blogging last month, I do have tons of new stuff to show. After shooting my last wedding of the 2009 season, I have moved onto a winter schedule of belly’s, babies, and families. Add on tons of wedding album design from all the 2009 weddings, and hopefully some vacation time in the next month – then back to the weddings of 2010!

Vivian, Chrissy, Suzy and Lois – the cousins on the Hudson River

My very good friend and an awesome photographer herself, Vivian Lanzarone, had asked me to photograph her group of cousins (best friends) about 2 years ago. Amazingly, it took that long to pull everyone together! Vivian picked a cute spot on the Hudson River at Waryas Park for a few photos and then we headed down Water Street to catch a few more. The spot I had picked for the photo session unfortunately had about 8 fishermen standing where we needed to be, but we found some fantastic rock walls and gates to use instead. Afterwards, everyone headed back across the river for diner and drinks at Sal’s Place in Highland.

Doriano’s Prom Pics

My best friend Jenny asked me to take a few photos of her son Doriano as he headed out to the Junior Prom last week. I am still in awe of how much he towers over me – I can remember when he was 2 feet tall. He also looks just like his gorgeous mom!

I didn’t get any photos of his date since he was on their way to meet her, but here are some photos of mom and son.

Marissa and Shawn’s engagement session

The original plan was to do Marissa and Shawn’s engagement session on the waterfront in Cold Spring, but the day was so windy that we headed up into the Village of Cold Spring instead. Marissa and Shawn were up for anything and we had a fantastic time using the urban setting and great architecture of the old buildings as a backdrop to some fun, sexy and romantic pictures! These are just a few of my many many favorites that day.
