About Lori

My background is in photojournalism – I’ve photographed fires, funerals, presidential candidates and helicopter water rescues.

What attracts people most to my photography? They tell me its my love of the landscape and how I incorporate my clients into the beauty of the scenery. Many of my clients actually either hate being photographed or are deathly afraid of it. They want the photos but dread what they think is the amount of smiling and posing that they might have to put into it.

My client hire me to capture their natural self. It’s my job to make the magic happen.

More about Lori:  “I like to say that my style is REAL. I’m after the real you, your real love and those candid moments most people don’t notice….the ones that make your wedding totally you.
You’ll never find me yelling orders at you or your guests. In fact, the only time you’ll probably notice me at all is during your portraits. My couples say being around me has a ‘calming effect,’ like a tranquilizer only without the side effects. My approach to photography is creative and fun, balanced with just the right amount of gentle direction.

If you STILL want to know more:

Chocolate, art, tattoos, music, sneakers and Jimmy Choo.

I’ve been photographing weddings for almost 20 years now and am somewhere around the 400 weddings mark.

I have an ongoing love affair with my beastly dogs.  They have no manners (my fault completely), but I am crazy about them and do silly things like fly home directly after shooting a wedding because I miss them.  I also have a desert tortoise named Annie who hibernates 6 months a year and mainly dines on grass and prickly pear fruit in the few hours she is actually awake.  I tell her all my secrets.

My daughter is a barefoot horse farrier in Virginia Beach – ask me what that is and I can’t really tell you.  But she is basically very passionate about horses and is married to my wonderful and favorite son-in-law, a Virginia Beach firefighter.

My son is the co-founder of @Under30experiences, an adventure travel company for young adults.     Inc. Magazine ranked Under30Experiences  #801 on the 2018 Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America and #8 in Travel and Tourism. He is also married to my amazing daughter-in-law who pulled off my favorite wedding of 2019.

I don’t like being photographed.

I crave Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo’s, but live my real life in flip flops and chucks.

I love to garden and can get lost for hours at Tohono Chul Park or Tucson Botanical Gardens.

Pepsi is my caffeine and I love wedding cake.

I still cry at weddings.
